If I Could Run by Don Miller is available worldwide. The 74-page book is dedicated to every child that has ever been bullied. It’s a story of courage, strength and spirit.

This story, based on true events, opens in 1958. A young farm girl, Kelly Brown, is the water girl for the boys’ track team. She desperately wants to compete. However, girls were not welcomed on the boys teams’. At the last track meet of the season, she finally got her courage up, signing up for the fall cross-country team. Ridicule, humiliation, and bullying faced her. But as the summer began, she found an injured, abandoned dog near her farm. Her parents wouldn’t let her have a dog, so she kept it hidden in the barn. She nursed the dog back to health, and they became inseparable. Kelly trained all summer for the upcoming running season. Shadow, the dog, gave her the strength and confidence she needed. When summer ended and Kelly headed back to school, the bullying and taunting began all over again. After a disappointing season filled with failure and frustration, Kelly’s confidence in herself was gone. All seemed lost. But at the last race of the season, the state championship, an unbelievable series of events changes Kelly’s life forever.

One 5-star Amazon review states: “An Encouraging and triumphant story! My family will be reading this one over and over. Many life lessons can be learned from this book…”

Another son was born in 1976 and a daughter in 1978. Tragedy struck again on March 21, 1982 (Ricky`s 12th birthday). Don`s father and Ricky were in a plane crash. Don`s father was killed. Although seriously injured, Ricky survived. Then again, October 22, 2004, the ultimate tragedy. Ricky passed away from injuries received while driving a racecar. So, to help deal with this unfathomable grief, Don has turned to writing songs, writing his first book, and producing his first movie. Finding this helpful therapy, even at his advanced age, Don plans to continue on this path.
